Free AI audit

Free AI visibility checker

Enter your website below to see whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews mention your brand for the questions your buyers ask, and which competitors they cite instead. The free audit also checks the technical basics AI engines rely on: crawler access in robots.txt, structured data, llms.txt, entity data and server-rendered content. You get the results with a plain list of fixes.

Free AI visibility audit

We ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google what they recommend in your market, then check your site for the technical gaps. Takes about a minute.

No call, no card. Results in about a minute.

What the AI visibility audit checks

The checker looks at two things: what AI engines say about you, and whether your site makes it easy for them to say more.

1. Mentions and citations in AI answers

We run buyer-style prompts for your category (for example "best accounting software for small agencies") through ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, then record:

  • whether your brand is mentioned
  • whether your site is cited as a source
  • which competitors are mentioned or cited instead

2. Technical readiness

CheckWhat we look forWhy it matters
AI crawler accessRules in robots.txt for GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, Claude-SearchBot, Google-Extended and othersIf a search crawler is blocked, that engine may not be able to show your pages as sources
Structured dataSchema.org markup on key pages, and whether it matches the visible textHelps machines understand what a page is about
llms.txtWhether you have one and whether it follows the formatA low-cost, optional file some AI tools can read
Entity dataOrganization schema, logo, contact details and sameAs links to your profilesHelps AI systems connect your site to the right company
Server-rendered contentWhether your main content is in the HTML or only appears after JavaScript runsMany crawlers read the raw HTML, so content that needs JavaScript can be missed

AI crawlers: which ones to allow

Each AI company uses different bots for different jobs, and blocking the wrong one is one of the most common problems we find.

  • OpenAI: OAI-SearchBot decides which sites can appear in ChatGPT search answers. GPTBot collects content that may be used for model training. ChatGPT-User fetches pages when a user asks ChatGPT something, and OpenAI notes robots.txt rules may not apply to it because the user started the request.
  • Perplexity: PerplexityBot surfaces and links sites in Perplexity results. Perplexity-User fetches pages for user questions.
  • Anthropic: ClaudeBot collects training data, Claude-SearchBot indexes content for search answers, and Claude-User fetches pages for users.
  • Google: Google-Extended is a robots.txt token, not a separate crawler. According to Google's documentation, it controls use of your content for Gemini training and grounding, and does not affect inclusion in Google Search.

You can block training bots and still allow search bots. The audit shows exactly which rules you have now.

What you get back

Your results show each check as pass, warning or fail, with a short note on how to fix it. For mentions, you see which prompts returned your brand, which returned competitors, and which sources the engines cited.

Some fixes are quick, like changing a robots.txt rule. Others, like adding entity data across your site or rewriting thin pages so they answer buyer questions directly, take more work. Our guide on how to optimize for AI search walks through each one if you want to do it yourself.

Want the fixes done for you?

The audit is free and you can act on it yourself. If you would rather hand it off, our AI search optimization services cost $299 a month. Month one fixes what the audit found: crawler access, schema, llms.txt, entity data and content gaps. After that we keep optimizing and monitor up to 50 prompts a month across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. There is a 3-month minimum, or $2,990 a year, and sites over 500 pages get a custom quote on a call.

If you are comparing options, we also cover the main AI visibility tools and explain what AI visibility means in more depth. Unlike those platforms, we are an AI SEO agency that makes the changes.

Frequently asked questions

Is the AI visibility checker free?

Yes. The audit is free and you do not need to buy anything to see your results. If you want us to fix the issues, that is our paid $299 a month plan.

Which AI engines does the checker test?

It tests ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews with buyer-style prompts for your category. It records whether your brand is mentioned or cited, and which competitors appear instead.

What does the checker look for in robots.txt?

It checks the rules for AI crawlers such as GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, Claude-SearchBot and the Google-Extended token. It flags any search-related bot that is blocked, since that can stop an engine from citing your pages.

Why does server-rendered content matter for AI visibility?

Many crawlers read the HTML your server sends and do not run JavaScript. If your main content only appears after scripts run, those crawlers may see an almost empty page. The checker tests whether your key content is in the initial HTML.

Do I need llms.txt to appear in AI answers?

No. Google says you do not need special AI text files or markup to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode. The checker reports llms.txt as a low-priority item because it is cheap to add, not because it is required.
